About the Artist!

Hi there! Thanks for getting to know me!

Yep, that's me fulfilling one of my dreams by visiting the Great Wall of China!

Yep, that’s me fulfilling one of my dreams by visiting the Great Wall of China!

Getting started…

I’m a native San Diegan who loves to travel but always feels good about being home. I grew up painting, drawing, and experimenting with different mediums. From a young age I spent my summers at art camp, drawing animals at the San Diego Zoo. Whenever someone asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up I would say “an Artist,” but I never found the path to getting there. All I knew was I needed to go to college, which would provide a stable career in an office. I shifted focus to academics, graduating as Valedictorian from high school, Magna Cum Laude from college and eventually Cum Laude from law school (merely evidence that what you find on this site is not my fall back for cash, rather my true passion).

Throughout this time I never lost my artistic interests, taking oil painting classes over summer breaks and delving into both hand built and wheel thrown ceramics at the local community colleges during law school.

Here I am posing in front of my finished mural at Z1 Parts’ storefront in California.

…and then…

After passing the bar and working for three years, I consistently felt something was missing. I was restless, so I surfed Craigslist under “gigs” and wound up answering an ad seeking a muralist to paint the entrance to a local motorcycle parts shop. One thing led to the next, and I was commissioned for a series of large detailed renderings. I love the work but feel truly rewarded by the sincere expressions of pleasure and excitement on my customer’s faces when they see their finished piece.

I have also dabbled in furniture building and refinishing and would do more but for the mess and lack of space for such projects.

…now and beyond!

Currently, I specialize in acrylic paintings, specifically detailed renderings of engine transportation, from motorcycles to aircraft. I consider myself especially focused on lifelike renderings of a variety of scenes, including nature settings and other subjects upon request.

Of course my story would not be complete without a couple of pictures of my adopted girls: Sommer and Maddie. Both are rescues from Helping Persian Cats, a non-profit rescue group.

Here is Sommer, she's an Exotic Shorthair and also a rescue.

This is my first baby, Maddie. She's a Persian and was rescued and I nursed her back to health.
